One of my friends asked me to do a tutorial on how I make my baby food so I thought this would be a good way to start. I wanted to do a video but I didn't have the time to do it. So here it is step by step.
1st step: I buy either frozen vegetables or frozen fruit whatever kind you want. Or I've bought non-frozen carrots and did it that way too.
2nd step: If their frozen just put them in the microwave for about a minute. Then put them in a pot with boiling water for about 30 minutes or until soft.
3rd step: Take a hand full at a time and put them in a blender or (bullet in my case) and pour a little bit of water from the pot into it the blender.
4th step: It should be the right consistence. If you want it thick don't add water if you want it thin add water. Then I just get a spoon and put it in the ice trays. You can put them in a zip-lock bag then cut the corner off the bag and put it in the ice trays but I think the spoon is easier & faster.
5th step: Now put them in the freezer and then once their frozen put them in a container or bag so they don't get freezer burn and they should last about 3 weeks give or take.
6th step: When your ready to feed your little one just take how many out you want (my girl eats about 3 every eating) and then put them in microwave for about 15-20 seconds and then you can always add a little more warm water if it's too thick. And then feed your little one!
This is Butternut Squash. I just cut the squash in half length wise and scoop the middle out then put on a cooking sheet with a 1/2 inch water cook in oven for 400 degrees for 40 min. Then peel, cut and blend it. You have baby squash food. I saved $13 on squash.
Sweet Potatoes are the same as the other ones. Just peel and then boil in water and blend. This is probably Olivia's favorite!
Another baby food I've done is banana's you just put a half a banana (or whole depends how much your baby will eat) into the blender with a little water and serve then. It seriously is so fast and easy to do. (Sorry I don't have a picture of it)
I say every mother should try this at least once, to see if they like it or not. I've had so many people tell me it takes too long, but honestly it doesn't. The first time I did it, it probably took me one hour but now it probably only takes me 30-40 minutes. The longest part is cooking the food plus you can do other things while you wait for it to cook and then after its cooked it goes by quick and easy.
I have found out that by doing it this way I have saved a lot of money. I've probably saved 40 dollars so far and I've only been doing it for about a month.
I know there are other ways to do it and I've heard the baby processors are way easy to do but they are just too expensive for us.

Yay! Thanks Erika! Can't wait to do this.
