General Women's Conference:

Last night I was able to go to the General Women's Conference and I would like to share my feelings with you while I watched it. This was the first time that girls between the ages 8-11 were able to come and join the messages with us. It was so sweet watching these girls cling to their moms and hold their hands.
All the talks touched my heart. I loved when one of the Sister's asked all eight years old to stand up and start singing "Teach Me to Walk in The Light" that was so tender to watch. I felt the Spirit very strong while listening to these young girls. The youth has so much impact on the older generations, I think we can all learn from these sweet, innocent, eight years old girls.

Another talk I loved that touched my heart is Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson the Young Women General President on "how we need each other." She noted that when women look beyond their differences in age, culture, circumstance to nurture and serve one another they will be filled with the pure love of Christ and the inspiration that leads them to know when and whom to serve. "The adversary would have us be critical or judgmental of one another, He wants us to concentrate on our differences and compare ourselves to one another." She said. "We as women can be particularly hard on ourselves. When we compare our selves to one another, we will always fell inadequate or resentful of others. We just need to relax and rejoice in our divine differences, We need to realize that we all desire to serve in the kingdom using our unique talents and gifts in our own ways. Then we can enjoy our sisterhood, our associations and begin to serve."
I think she said it everything right and I couldn't agree with her more. I think we need to focus on more serving and less comparing... we are all striving to go to the same place.
