I enjoyed watching General Conference this weekend and listening to strong, inspired, powerful messages. I love them all but here are the ones that stood out to me the most.
Elder Jeffery R. Holland Quorum of the twelve talked about, The cost and blessing of discipleship."You will one day find yourself called upon to defend your faith or perhaps even endure some personal abuse simple because you are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Such moments will require both courage and courtesy on your part." I think this is true. I need to have courage and stand for what I believe in and share the Gospel any chance I get to those who need it and want it. I love Elder Holland, he is a sweet man and always speaks with so much boldness and love for us.
Another one of my favorite talks is from Elder David A. Bednar called "Bear Up Their Burdens With Ease." He talked about how through the Atonement, the Lord is able to help everyone bear life's heavy burdens. "Sometimes we mistakenly may believe that happiness is the absence of a load, but bearing a load is a necessary and essential part of the plan of happiness. Because our individual load needs to generate spiritual traction, we should be careful to not haul around so many nice but unnecessary things that distract and divert us from the things that matter most." Elder Bednar said, "We are not and never alone. We can press forward in our daily lives with Heavenly help. Through the Savior's Atonement we can receive capacity and strength beyond our own."
I believe in God the Eternal Father and in His Son Jesus Christ. I know that my Savior died for me, so I can repent, be forgiven, and return to my Heavenly Father. I also believe that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet and restored the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe that The Book of Mormon is true and can be a daily guide for us. I have a testimony of prayer and I know that my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a true and living Prophet, that leads this church under the direction of Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ.
I love this picture of Olivia praying. It makes me feel good to have The Gospel in my home and to raise my children in it. I'm grateful to a Mormon and to know of it's truth. If you would like to read other talks from General Conference here is the link.
